Theon - Chapter Eight

As time passed the relationships in the Gray household just became more awkward. It was almost like 3 roommates were living together just because it made financial sense.
Theon did attempt occasionally to interact with Elenore since they were so close when she was younger.
Yet most of his time was devoted to art.
He had almost completely mastered the skill and the money he was bringing in by selling his paintings almost rivaled Vallari’s income.
Meanwhile, Elenore spent her free time playing chess. At a young age she had decided that her lifetime goal was to become a chess legend. When she thought of the greats, there were no women that immediately came to mind…and she was going to change that.
Between school and chess she did still manage to keep her friendship with her longtime friend JC alive. While her mother ignored most of what Elenore did, this friendship did intrigue her…
“Where’s that blond boy tonight?” Vallari asked.
“JC?” Elenore responded…he’s only been my friend for the past 10 years, you could at least know his name.
“Why don’t you two ever do more than just hang out?”
“What do you mean?”
“Like a nice time at a restaurant?”
Elenore sighed, “it’s not like that. It’s just JC.”
Out of all the things her mother could be concerned about, why did a boy have to be the one thing she picked. Elenore had dreams and aspirations, and that did not include going to prom.
Time passed as it always did in the Gray house. All members busy with their own activities.
Although an upcoming birthday marked a huge change for the family.
It was time for Elenore to become an adult.
