‘I guess,” Jane mumbled trying hard not to roll her eyes.
“Good!” an exasperated Louise exclaimed. “Let’s get dressed for your party!”
Half the town showed up to celebrate Jane’s birthday.
The days of childhood were now behind.

Even Merlin partook in the festivities.
“Do you think the teenage years are just going to get harder?” Louise asked her husband.
“No, I’m quite sure it’s just a phase she’s already growing out of.”
