Elenore - Chapter Three

Yoshi had passed on. Theon took it the hardest. Yoshi had been with him since day one and he wasn’t sure if he would have had the courage to make the original move to Appaloosa Plains without him. The Gray house mourned silently at the loss of their beloved friend.
To help fill the void Elenore asked her fiancée to move in. JC happily accepted and joined as the fourth family member. He also quickly found a job as a playground monitor at the local elementary school.
Once he returned from work he would spend his nights helping his soon-to-be-wife perfect her passion.
Theon had fully accepted JC as a part of the family and comfortably wore his boxer briefs in front of him
With the new family member, the family did something else even more extraordinary…they ate dinner together! (Well at least on Sundays.)
Soon it was time for Theon’s to celebrate another birthday. Half the town gathered to watch him blow out his candles.
Over the years Theon had accumulated a large number of friends…and flirts.
Once the party died down Vallari offered to take JC’s place and play a match with her daughter.
“I heard JC is having a bachelor party this weekend,” Vallari started.
“Yup,” Elenore replied not even taking her eyes off the pieces.
“Isn’t that kind of odd since you haven’t set a date yet?”
“Dunno.”
Vallari sighed, “men like JC don’t come along often.”
“I think Dad’s pretty cool,” Elenore responded snarkily.
“Yes,” Vallari paused, “but can’t you see how much JC is sacrificing for your happiness?”  Elenore didn’t understand and Vallari just continued. “The man adores you, I hope you see that.”
Elenore ignored her mother…what did she know about love and marriage?
